The ACROSS Story and Journey: Beyond 50 Years

The history of ACROSS, from its inception over 50 years ago to today, is a tale marked by joy, hardship, struggle, challenges, and opportunities. More significantly, it reflects the love of God as demonstrated through devoted individuals who have offered themselves to serve as His hands, feet, eyes, and heart for His people. ACROSS was established in response to the fervor of a few missionaries and a request from local leaders—Southern elites and church officials—who sought to begin rebuilding and restoring livelihoods following the end of the first civil war in 1972. Since then, ACROSS has consistently served the people of South Sudan, and has expanded its reach to northern Uganda and a small presence in Kenya, making it one of the oldest organizations in the region.
